++ The Future of Mobility: FlixTrain and FlixBus continue to change the way people travel

Five years after the launch of FlixBus, Europe’s largest long-distance mobility provider, the company behind the green buses is adding trains to their network. FlixTrain will begin regular service on March 24, 2018, with Hamburg to Dusseldorf to Cologne as the first route. By the end of 2018, a total of 28 destinations throughout Germany will be connected via FlixTrain.

“Bus and rail complement each other perfectly. By adding FlixTrain to the FlixMobility offering, we can provide affordable travel options to even more people,” said André Schwämmlein, CEO and Co-Founder of FlixMobility. “We are demonstrating that comfortable long-distance travel does not need to be expensive.”

FlixTrain tickets will begin at €9.99 and are available at www.FlixTrain.com, via the free App and in FlixBus Ticket Shops throughout Germany.

FlixTrain and FlixBus Provide Ecological Alternative to Car Travel

FlixTrain will be integrated into the FlixBus network throughout Germany, providing new alternatives to car travel.

“We stand for affordable travel and an ecological alternative to the car,” said Schwämmlein. “The FlixMobility goal is to persuade – and allow – more people to take public transportation options on long routes. With our network now consisting of bus and rail, we are creating a sustainable concept for the future of mobility.”

Network Expansion, Product Innovation and FlixBus USA

Since launching FlixBus in 2013, the company has transported over 100 million passengers via 250,000 daily connections. In 2018, FlixMobility will continue to invest in grid expansion including new cross-border lines and additional destinations across the 27 countries currently serviced by FlixBus. Beyond Europe, FlixBus will launch in the United States beginning in Summer 2018, with the first connections throughout California and the SouthWest USA.

"Over the past five years, FlixBus has fundamentally changed the way people travel in Europe," said Schwämmlein. "Together with FlixTrain and our launch in the US, we want to give even more people the opportunity to travel sustainably and comfortably over the next five years."
