After receiving the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2018” in the Young Enterprise category by EY Germany, FlixMobility, the company behind the FlixBus and FlixTrain brands, has been nominated for the 2019 EY World Entrepreneur of the Year™ award.

“Together with our strong team and a steadfast entrepreneurial spirit, we have been writing mobility history for the past five years,” said André Schwämmlein, FlixMobility Co-Founder and CEO. “Today, FlixBus and FlixTrain have established themselves as popular travel alternatives in Europe and the United States. Over 100 million people travelled with us. We are challenging the past to create a better future of mobility – for people, economies and the environment.”

FlixMobility will represent Germany at the awards, which will take place from June 5-9 in Monaco. Past winners of the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year™ award have been from Brazil, Canada, Australia and France; to date, 18 have taken home the coveted award, being named the most entrepreneurial company in the world for the given year.

The jury for the 2019 EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ awards consists of the following members: Jim Nixon (Chairman and CEO, Nixon Energy Investments), Manny Stul (Chairman and Co-CEO, Moose Toys), Rosaleen Blair CBE (CEO, Alexander Mann Solutions), Bernadette Ruth Irawati Setiady, Chairwoman, Kalbe Farma) and Frank M. Jaehnert (Former CEO and Board Member, Brady Corporation).

FlixBus was founded in Munich in 2011 by André Schwämmlein, Daniel Krauss and Jochen Engert. With a strong startup spirit, the company has expanded its offerings from Germany across Europe and the United States, servicing 29 countries in 2019. In cooperation with experienced bus and train partners from the regional SMEs, FlixMobility has created thousands of new jobs and strives every day to provide customers with the best travel experience possible.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award is one of the world's most prestigious awards for startups and individual entrepreneurs. For over 30 years, EY has been giving this accolade to selected entrepreneurs in 60 countries.
